Nature is all around us, and one of the best ways to experience Nature is by watching the backyard birds.\u00a0 One thing we experienced and enjoyed during our time at Driftless Oaks Farm (our 10-acre hobby farm in Maiden Rock, Wisconsin) was the birds.<\/p>\n

Hummingbirds, Baltimore Orioles, cardinals, rose breasted grosbeaks, dark eyed juncos, chickadees, indigo buntings, woodpeckers, eagles, hawks, pheasants, owls (three different varieties), and even a grouse visited us at the farm.\u00a0 Our feeders were always busy, and we had to work hard keeping up with them!<\/p>\n

The fact is: we love to watch the birds.<\/p>\n

Yes, I know: we aren’t cool, hip people anymore!\u00a0 I am good with that.<\/p>\n

As we have finally put down deep roots here at The Landing in New Richmond, Wisconsin, we have experienced new feathered friends.\u00a0 I have seen bird varieties that I never have seen before!\u00a0 I am focused on improving our property to encourage our feathered friends, and I am providing seed, feed and water for them as well.<\/p>\n

This page is dedicated to our backyard birds, especially as I create my own version of a “backyard bird sanctuary” here at The Landing on the banks of the Willow River.<\/p>\n

Yes, birds are part of our gardening experience here, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.<\/p>\n
